crucify ourselves

Christina Strigas

I don’t know how some people meet once and never again

delete love like typos

it is a constant pain to love

the person who loves you back

who is somewhere in the sea.

i almost died and every time

i’m scared, i shatter inside.

certain songs make me cry

like a fucking baby, like the ones

you sent me.i never give up

but you

you never give up on me

i’m not 33, those years came and went

i have some numbness in my hand now

spent the day in the hospital

watching a loved one slowly die

and now going back for more

show the kids how death decides us

show my heart what love is inside of us.

you make it all better when they come

after me,

with lies and jealousies,

with hate and envy

you see me for more than a shade of plum

~I Smile~

Paris Poems

time: a dichotomous bitch
when life feels
simultaneously endless and
the longing you feel
to hold your loved one
fair cripples your soul
yet, the loss feels so fresh
that the tears have yet to dry
upon your wet cheeks
that dichotomy
still shreds my heart
but I’ll smile through
every anguished tear
that forever falls
because that is what
she would want me to wear
so for you baby girl
I smile

A masterpiece of poetic words by PJB Baylis

P J Bayliss

Early in July I wrote a poem for one of those ‘closed groups’ on FB and I haven’t been able to remove it from my mind since. It was one of my ‘free’ works you see; un-copyrighted and just one of my offerings to all, so rather than loose it forever to the eternal scroll of a facebook wall, I thought I’d share it with you here.

While writing this particular poem I entered a challenge of sorts with myself in regards to the stanza form. This wasn’t my typical comfy zone of A-B-C-B or anything remotely close to what I’ve written before. Poetry used to just ‘fall out of me‘ with ease, but that’s not quite the case anymore and I wrote this with that in mind. I expected that it wasn’t going to happen spontaneously and I wanted to push through that resistance to prove to myself that…

lovers Dancing
A Painfully slow
As reapers hover
Sprinkling Cancerous
Undoing promises
That do not bode well

What it has become
Leaves you baffled
Shooting venomous
Words that sting
Apocalyptic Actions
That wound
What’s left
of a love bereft
Is what he
To give you
Sum it all up
This love
Is dead

In that moment
The gossamer veil
You have sight
Zombie reactions
No longer
Cripple your life

Lightning strikes
A thunderous bolt
You are no longer
Someone’s enough
Were never enough
What a glorious feeling
You don’t give a fuck
Loving yourself
Is more than enough

Angel Wings Poetry

Mark Davis Author / Poet

Cutting Her Loose
By PJ Bayliss

The key fitted perfectly into the door,
And slithers of light cut across the floor,
Hinges moaning as if they already knew,
What my sexual intentions were for for.

Your hand trembled nervously as I grasp,
Edging you forward into the lingering lust,
Our breathe echoed against concrete walls,
Before I stopped and allowed a brief pause.

Our eyes gathered together in the dim light,
I smiled and admired the angelic sight,
Of your torso and bosom as it gently heaved,
And of where I intended to bury my seed.

My thumb curled around your bottom lip,
Before I muzzled in for an intimate kiss,
Compelling your shoulders to drop towards earth,
Releasing the gates to your pulsating purse.

You drifted before me upon my open palm,
Then your eyes darted open in silent alarm,
As the cold leather pressed against your thigh,

With every
Chapter and
I wonder …,

What happens
When you
Drift away
Two ships Sailing
Miles apart
Shadows that
Share a darkness
But yearn for
A piece of light
A sliver of love

As your heart is
Seeking that sunshine
A moonbeam of lust
That walk on the beach
You talked of
But alas gave up

What happens
In that next chapter
Where suddenly
You have To trust
That opportunity
To go with
your heart
Or Live
An amicable existence
Breaking further apart

The next page
Of your life
You can live
Without remorse
Of what was

But then again
Who knows
How this story
will go
What would
Have happened
Should have
Could have
At this point
Who cares

Alas the final Chapter
Is written
The finale Has arrived
The fissure of us
Is just too wide
We’ve gone
Too far
There is Nothing left
To revive
Tired of
Always walking
On eggshells
Afraid to be
Another edit
Pushed aside
For when you find time
You might realize
Our ending
Can be
We forgot
How to be friends
To laugh
To talk
To be alive

The End

Day 4 in the #NaPoWriMo Challenge

My poem on day 4 of the NaPoWriMo challenge with Debra Lane
Prompt theme was “Loveless”

LoveLess Phoenix

She is but a shadow
Of her former Self
No longer soaring …..

Words across the Oceans

Day 4’s optional prompt, was to write a “loveless” love poem. ~ via The NaPoWriMo Website

So with“Day 4’s Prompt”I have chosen to share”A Winter Eden” by Robert Frost, my fellow friend and poetAngel Poet has also written a piece called “Phoenix” & then my submission is below that!

Happy reading and hope you all enjoy!

A winter garden in an alder swamp,
Where conies now come out to sun and romp,
As near a paradise as it can be
And not melt snow or start a dormant tree.

It lifts existence on a plane of snow
One level higher than the earth below,
One level nearer heaven overhead,
And last year’s berries shining scarlet red.

It lifts a gaunt luxuriating beast
Where he can stretch and hold his highest feat
On some wild apple tree’s young…
